Step 3. Schedule Your Trip

Once your bariatric surgery is approved, a member of our team will contact you to schedule your procedure at a time that works best for you. To make your experience as smooth as possible, we’ll also assist with travel, transportation, and accommodations in Tijuana, Mexico, ensuring every detail is taken care of.

Your Surgery Day
On the morning of your bariatric surgery, it’s important not to eat or drink anything unless your doctor has specifically instructed you to take medication. Our surgical team will answer any last-minute questions you may have. For patients traveling to Tijuana from outside Mexico, pre-surgical tests will be conducted to ensure everything is in order. After that, you’ll be taken to the surgical room, where general anesthesia will be administered. Once you're fully comfortable, Dr. Pompa will begin your procedure.

After your bariatric surgery, you’ll stay in one of our private recovery rooms, where our staff will monitor your progress and provide around-the-clock care. Most patients stay in Tijuana, Mexico, for 2-3 days to ensure a smooth recovery process before heading home.
