A Breast Lift with Implants Can Enhance the Size and Contours of Your Bust

Breast Implants

Age, weight loss, pregnancy, and breastfeeding can all affect the shape and volume of your breasts. Over time, your breasts can start to sag or look deflated, and may not respond to a breast augmentation or lift alone. Our plastic surgery team can expertly combine a breast lift with implants to raise your bust and enhance your contours for a more youthful appearance. At LIMARP® in Tijuana, Mexico, all our plastic surgery and bariatric procedures are performed in our safe, comfortable clinic for beautiful results.

Is a Breast Lift with Implants Right for Me?

Also known as an augmentation mastopexy, this procedure is a good choice for patients who want to address sagging as well as a lack of volume in their bust.
Our team often recommends combining a breast lift with implants to patients who have:

  • Completed pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Lost a substantial amount of weight
  • Developmental problems with their breasts, such as asymmetry

To qualify for an augmentation mastopexy, you need to be in good health and have sufficient skin elasticity. Before recommending this procedure, your plastic surgeon will sit down with you and discuss your medical history as well as your cosmetic goals. Foreign patients will be asked to email specific photographs in order to determine which procedure best responds to their needs.
Augmenting your breasts with implants is a highly customizable procedure, so you will also have the option to choose between different materials, sizes, and shapes based on your preferences.

What to Expect during Treatment

Breast surgery is typically an outpatient procedure. Depending on your needs, your plastic surgeon may perform both your lift and augmentation at the same time or in stages.
Before beginning, we will provide the ideal type of anesthesia for your particular case, and then your surgeon will proceed to:

  • Create incisions using refined techniques to minimize scarring
  • Remove excess skin and breast tissue
  • Adjust the position of the nipple and areola
  • Insert a silicone or saline implant

Following the procedure, you will rest for a period of time in our facilities. As an outpatient procedure, most patients return to their home or hotel room the day of surgery. A typical breast lift with augmentation takes about two hours to complete, though the exact length of your procedure will depend on your goals, concerns, and other factors.

After Your Procedure

Patients typically experience mild to moderate discomfort for a few days after their augmentation mastopexy. In general, we recommend taking about a week off of work for initial recovery. Bruising, swelling, soreness, and numbness are all normal side effects. They should resolve within a few weeks. Make sure to avoid all strenuous activities until our plastic surgery team instructs otherwise.
While you recover, you should:

  • Avoid lying flat on your back
  • Rest in an elevated position
  • Limit exercise other than walking
  • Follow all post-operative instructions

It may take two to three months for your implants to settle and the muscles to relax. Massage and stretching can help with discomfort during this time. Keep in mind that everyone heals differently and your experience may be unique.
